Artists Statement

I am inspired in my work by what I see in a discarded piece of scrap metal. What may have become landfill I have instead turned into forms of art that forge a link with our past. I have crafted each piece in a natural, serene environment.

You may recognise parts of a farming implement, an old tool, items thrown away as no longer useful. I am proud of the fact that I can recycle these old objects in a way that they can be used as a talking point in today's world.

I haunt steel scrap heaps and recycling stations searching for a piece of steel that immediately cries out to me as the beginnings of a bird, a human form or perhaps a compilation of tools that can make a statement from times gone by. I feel privileged to bring back our forgotten past to share with future generations.
